St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish |
| Parish Fundraising Policy |
|
|
All requests for new parish fundraising and solicitation activities must be submitted to the Parish Development Director one month prior to the proposed fundraiser. Fundraiser Request Forms are available at the Parish Office.
New parish fundraisers are defined as those activities created to financially benefit the church, school, or any organization affiliated with St. John the Baptist Parish. New fundraisers that take place off campus in the name of St. John the Baptist Parish also must be submitted to the Parish Development Director for approval.
Requests will be reviewed by the Parish Development Director in consultation with the Parish Pastoral Staff for approval. If all parties mentioned are in agreement, final approval must be granted by the Pastor before proceeding. (In the absence of the Pastor, final approval must be granted by the Pastoral Associate).
Requests for new fundraisers must include specifications of where the funds raised will be used. Final approval for how the funds raised are to be used will be granted by the Pastor. (In the absence of the Pastor, final approval must be granted by the Pastoral Associate.)
Church, school, and individual organization fundraising activities that took place during the 2002-2003 fiscal year are exempt from this policy and do not require approval from the above-mentioned parties. However, if fundraisers that took place during the 2002-2003 fiscal year cease to exist, approval based on this policy must be granted before reinstituting that particular fundraiser in the future.
REVIEW
The Parish Development Board (the advisory group to the Development Office) will review all existing and new fundraising and solicitation activities on a case-by-case basis to ensure that conflicts regarding over-solicitation do not occur. When conflicts do arise, the proper parties will be contacted to resolve the issue.
CONDUCT OF FUNDRAISERS
All new and current fundraisers, and those responsible for their operation, must observe all civil laws, especially as they apply to gambling, alcoholic beverages, and other potential liabilities. All parties involved in the operation of fundraising activities also must abide by all rules and regulations that fall under the Decree on Child Protection Policy.
Any group, organization, or individual affiliated with the parish that does not abide by the stated regulations risks losing future fundraising privileges. Questions regarding the Fundraising Policy should be directed to the Parish Development Director (385 – 8010 ext. 119 or via email development@stjohns-dr.org).
