The St. John the Baptist Memorial Fund serves as a means for the parish community and its friends to contribute to St. John’s in memory of a loved one. Donations made to the Memorial Fund can be directed to benefit a specific area of the parish. Each year a series of memorial masses will be celebrated in honor of those individuals remembered through the donations made to the Memorial Fund during the previous year. A St. John’s Memorial Fund Booklet recognizing those remembered and donors will be published once a year in the Fall (Please note that the Memorial Flower Fund Booklet will no longer be produced. Flower Fund donations will be included in the St. John’s Memorial Fund Booklet). Five areas (funds) have been established within the Memorial Fund where donations can be directed. All donations made to the St. John’s Memorial Fund that do not identify the area of the parish to be benefited will be placed in the General Fund. Donations to the Memorial Fund are tax deductible. Questions about the St. John’s Memorial Fund should be directed to David Kissell in the Development Office at 385-8010 ext. 119 or via email development@stjohns-dr.org. |

| Description of Funds
Previously known as the Adopt-A-Studentä Fund, donations made to the Help-A-Student Fund are used to help families in need with the cost of tuition to attend St. John’s School. Financial assistance that is granted to school families is determined annually by the Parish Business Manager in consultation with the Pastor and Principal.
Donations made to the Debt Reduction Fund are used to pay down the parish’s debt to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. The debt was incurred with the building of the current Church and school addition in the late 1990s. The Church is the primary worship space for the parish, and the school addition includes the cafeteria, computer lab, library, science lab and junior high classrooms.
Donations made to the Capital Improvement Fund are used to assist with the expenses associated with improvements and maintenance to the parish buildings and grounds. Portions of the St. John’s campus are more than 80 years old, and require continual maintenance. The Capital Improvement Fund enables the parish community to enjoy clean, safe, and attractive facilities. Back
Donations made to the Flower Fund are used to offset the cost of purchasing flowers to decorate the Church throughout the year.
Donations made to the General Fund are used to assist with operating and non-operating expenses. Distribution and use of the General Fund is at the discretion of the Pastor and Parish Business Manager. |
